Export to Malta

The Government of Malta, seeking a solution to the recycling of waste, approached Ridgeway via its website. Their existing tipping skips were causing problems associated with noise and they needed a skip that would reduce that noise. Based on this brief Ridgeway designed a skip, with a built in damper, to slow down the tipping process and reduce the level of noise.

The design was subsequently sent to the client electronically. On review they gave approval to produce a prototype which was manufactured at Ridgeway’s UK plant. Once complete a video link was set up to demonstrate how the skip would work and following that demonstration the client ordered 40 bins.

These were subsequently shipped in containers to Malta where they have been used successfully both in the handling of waste and crucially reducing the level of noise.

Result: an innovative solution to meet the needs of an overseas client.
